Having full root-level access means that you will be able to access and update any file on a particular server, which includes all of the system files, and to change system settings or install server-side software that may be required by certain scripts and even offline applications in order to function effectively. A server is accessed at the root level via a root user, who has full privileges to do any of the aforementioned things. Your root user may also generate various other users. For safety reasons, you are advised to have one more account for routine tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to perform a task on the server. The root-level access feature will give you full control of your server from almost any location, provided that you know the user credentials.

Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers

Our VPS servers come with different levels of access, in order to give you the option to select the one you need, according to your level of experience and on what you'll need the server for. If you buy a VPS with no Control Panel, you will have full root-level access and you can manage everything using a console, unless you set up a third-party tool. The servers that are ordered with the DirectAdmin or the cPanel hosting Control Panel also come with full root access, yet most of the things which are linked to your web content can be done using a graphical interface and not a console. You can install various different frameworks or media streaming software, for example, without a problem. When you order your virtual server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you can still use a Secure Shell console to connect, however, the root access will be reduced. Yet, the Hepsia-equipped servers are the easiest to manage.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers

You'll have full root-level access to your dedicated server regardless of what package you pick throughout the registration process, as long as the server is ordered with cPanel or DirectAdmin, or with no web hosting Control Panel at all. In each of these 3 cases, you are able to update any part of the software environment in any way you find fit, which makes our server packages ideal for resource-demanding applications with specific requirements which can't be covered if you use a shared web hosting account. The main difference between these options is that using cPanel or DirectAdmin, you will have a web-based graphical interface to take care of many different server-side options and any web content which you create or upload, while if you order the server with no Control Panel, you'll have to do everything with a Secure Shell console or to set up a Control Panel of your own liking, if it is compatible with the OS which you've chosen throughout the registration process. With the last Control Panel option which you'll be able to choose on our order page - Hepsia, the root access is limited.
